SOCIAL ACTION Share & Care 2024

Following the ever-increasing market of charter boats that prefer Rhodes marina as their base, which can be seen from their constant and ever-increasing presence in the Marina, a significant amount of food and other products have been observed that remain on the boats when they return to marina, after completing their weekly charter. This is why we designed and created the concept (Share & Care 2024) so that part of these unused and well-preserved goods that are maintained intact when the boat returns, are collected in a specially designed area in our facilities every Saturday morning. Adhering to the rules of hygiene, food safety and through strict procedures, we ensure that by our own means the products go to social structures of the city of Rhodes, the orphanage of Rhodes as well as to local organizations that operate with this purpose. This policy is part of our wider corporate social responsibility planning that we implement, reducing the waste of food that would otherwise end up in the trash, indirectly contributing overall to a more sustainable and meaningful operation of professional yachting in our region. It is worth noting that the company is in an advanced stage of planning and publishing a Corporate Social Report (sustainability report) in accordance with the directions of the United Nations Organization to achieve 17 goals by 2030. This action is practically supported by the charter boat management companies that operate in our Marina premises with more than 60 boats for 2024.

OPEN Day of the Metropolitan College

On Thursday 27/7/2024 we had the pleasure of participating in the OPEN Day of the Metropolitan College at the Rhodes campus.

Our company, a pioneer in connecting the academic world with the business world, hav ing already collaborated with the college in training program, was present.

Parents, teenagers and prospective students had the opportunity to take a tour of the spaces, rooms and laboratories of the campus, actively participate in the events, learn about the offered study programs, as well as talk to academics and students about the experience of studying on campus.

In the context of this specific event, important companies of Rhodes were invited to attend, presenting employment opportunities to the students.

The General Manager of ‘’Rhodes Marinas SA’’ Mr. Christoforos Charisis and company executives, offered relevant information to those interested while we had the opportunity to support the college’s effort.
This action showcases the importance of our organization at the local community and its involvement with the business and academic world.

TOURISM AWARDS 2024

The Protagonists of Greek Tourism for 2024

The most important initiatives for Greek tourism for the 11th consecutive year were celebrated last night at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Athens in a glittering ceremony attended by over 500 people. The awards – an institution of the sector – entered their second decade with a strong focus on Greek-ness and Sustainability and rewarded the pioneers and innovators of Greek tourism and the businesses of the sector.
Haris Theocharis, Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, in his greeting, referred to the increasingly important contribution of tourism to the country’s GDP and congratulated the awardees for their work. Immediately afterwards he presented the Honorary Awards of the year.
The Tourism Awards are organized by BOUSSIAS Events and are under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, the Hellenic Tourism Organization (EOT) and the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE).
As CEO of RHODES MARINAS Mr. Thomas Triantaphyllou mentioned in his speech, we have chosen to participate in human-centered categories that promote the role and impact our company brings to the local community, cultural and economic added value and upgrading of the tourist product of Rhodes and Greece in total.
Our accomplishments for 2024 are presented below:
Gold award for the action Learn about the Marina and the Environment in the category “Creation of Visitable Spaces in Airports, Ports, Marinas, Passenger Stations” and
Silver award for the action Accommodation of travelers during the disastrous fire in South Rhodes on July 2024 in the category ” Promotion Actions in the Local Community & Strengthening of Employment and Economy.

Cleaning the beach of Zefyros

Staff, partners and friends of Rhodes Marina are really happy and proud on cleaning the beach of Zefyros in Rhodes town. This being the recent environmental action our organization performed the 11th of November 2023 is part of the GLOBAL VOLUNTARY COASTAL CLEANUP held throughout the world between September to November 2023. Rhodes Marina being member of the local ambassador of the Global Voluntary coastal cleanup program in Greece, HELMEPA (Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association), is excited to be contributing for the second consecutive year on keeping the nearby beach of Zefyros clean, free of all kinds of litters and garbage that have been collected throughout the year. We are dedicated on continuously improving the daily life conditions of the greater environment, social and economic community where we operate and similar actions are only part of the great impact our operation has in Rhodes the last years.

Establishment of the Eastern Mediterranean Marina Network (IMAM)

The establishment of the Eastern Mediterranean Marina Network (EMMN) was jointly undertaken by the companies managing the marinas of Ayia Napa, Rhodes, Symi and Kos with the main objective of upgrading the services provided to yacht owners and further developing maritime tourism in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region.

The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed today Monday, December 4 at the Event Center of Ayia Napa Marina by representatives of the management companies of the cooperating marinas.

According to the signed Memorandum of Cooperation, the four marinas members of the Network will work together in order to achieve the best promotion policies and to establish the conditions for development and cooperation. Each marina member of the EMMN will participate in actions to promote the development of maritime tourism in the Mediterranean in the yachting sector.

Our marina is continuously upgrading its impact on the yachting industry at the East Mediterranean Sea moving closer to become an important player as marinas’ management operators.

International Coastal Cleanup 2023

It is with great pleasure that we organize the cleaning of the nearby beach Zefyros. This falls withing the action plan of HELMEPA, which for the 33rd consecutive year, coordinates in our country the Global Voluntary Coastal Cleanup, the largest voluntary event of its kind in the world, with over 17 million volunteers worldwide! The initiative is carried out by the American NGO Ocean Conservancy and in our country it takes place since September 16 to November 16, 2023.

Our organization being member of HELMEPA for the second year now, will participate on this unique action that is organized throughout the world under the auspices of international environmental organizations such as Ocean Conservancy

Rhodes for Life 2023

Supporting the action of Rhodes for Life, a local operating non-profit organization, we hosted their team on Sunday 22^nd of October to help at the sale of the light blue t-shirts Rhodes for Life 2023.

With the aim of purchasing a Fibroscan machine, which will be used by the Pathology clinics of General Hospital of Rhodes, and which is linked to the prevention of hepatocellular carcinoma, hundreds of local people and guests of our marina celebrated together with the band The Passenger.

The whole project runs for several weeks and is completed on Sunday 5^th of November 2023 with the tour of Rhodes and a big fest taking place at the city center of our town.

Hopefully, the necessary funds will be raised and the aim for this year will be successfully accomplished.

Rhodes Marinas SA has been awarded with the ISO 14001:2015

We are thriled to announce that Rhodes Marinas SA has been awarded with the ISO 14001:2015 standard regarding its environental procedures and impact.

ISO 14001:2015 specifies the requirements for an environmental management system that an organization can use to enhance its environmental performance. ISO 14001:2015 is intended for use by an organization seeking to manage its environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainability.

ISO 14001:2015 helps an organization achieve the intended outcomes of its environmental management system, which provide value for the environment, the organization itself and interested parties. Consistent with the organization’s environmental policy, the intended outcomes of an environmental management system include:

· enhancement of environmental performance;

· fulfilment of compliance obligations;

· achievement of environmental objectives.

ISO 14001:2015 is applicable to any organization, regardless of size, type and nature, and applies to the environmental aspects of its activities, products and services that the organization determines it can either control or influence considering a life cycle perspective. ISO 14001:2015 does not state specific environmental performance criteria.

ISO 14001:2015 can be used in whole or in part to systematically improve environmental management. Claims of conformity to ISO 14001:2015, however, are not acceptable unless all its requirements are incorporated into an organization’s environmental management system and fulfilled without exclusion.
