One of the top architectural monuments of Rhodes, at a heavenly location. Until recently, the complex of Kallithea was collapsing, but it is now renovated, regaining its former glamour. It was built in 1929 by Italian architect Pietro Lombardi, who has also designed the building of the European Parliament, in Strasburg. Its architecture combines elements from all kinds of civilizations that put their foot in Rhodes. The SPA stopped operating in 1968 and started collapsing since then. In the past, some efforts were made to reconstruct it, but they did not bear fruit due to poor management. After its successful renovation which was completed in 2007, the complex is used for painting and photography exhibitions, social events (weddings, baptism celebrations, etc.), plays, concerts, seminars and conferences.
