Staff, partners and friends of Rhodes Marina are really happy and proud on cleaning the beach of Zefyros in Rhodes town. This being the recent environmental action our organization performed the 11th of November 2023 is part of the GLOBAL VOLUNTARY COASTAL CLEANUP held throughout the world between September to November 2023.   Rhodes Marina being member of the local ambassador of the Global Voluntary coastal cleanup program in Greece, HELMEPA (Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association), is excited to be contributing for the second consecutive year on keeping the nearby beach of Zefyros clean, free of all kinds of litters and garbage that have been collected throughout the year.   We are dedicated on continuously improving the daily life conditions of the greater environment, social and economic community where we operate and similar actions are only part of the great impact our operation has in Rhodes the last years.

It is with great pleasure that we organize the cleaning of the nearby beach Zefyros. This falls withing the action plan of HELMEPA, which for the 33rd consecutive year, coordinates in our country the Global Voluntary Coastal Cleanup, the largest voluntary event of its kind in the world, with over 17 million volunteers worldwide! The initiative is carried out by the American NGO Ocean Conservancy and in our country it takes place since September 16 to November 16, 2023.

Our organization being member  of HELMEPA for the second year now, will participate on this unique action that is organized throughout the world under the auspices of international environmental organizations such as Ocean Conservancy

Supporting the action of Rhodes for Life, a local operating non-profit organization, we hosted their team on Sunday 22nd of October to help at the sale of the light blue t-shirts Rhodes for Life 2023.

With the aim of purchasing a Fibroscan machine, which will be used by the Pathology clinics of General Hospital of Rhodes, and which is linked to the prevention of hepatocellular carcinoma, hundreds of local people and guests of our marina celebrated together with the band The Passenger.

The whole project runs for several weeks and is completed on Sunday 5th of November 2023 with the tour of Rhodes and a big fest taking place at the city center of our town.

Hopefully, the necessary funds will be raised and the aim for this year will be successfully accomplished.

Global Voluntary Coastal Cleanup

17th September – 17th November 2022

Rhodes Marina is excited to be contributing to keeping our beaches clean by participating in the HELMEPA Global Voluntary Coastal Clean-up.

Keeping litter – such as rope, bottle caps, and plastic bags – out of the marine environment helps whales, birds, fish, and other sea life. Litter hurts these animals’ ability to move, eat and take care of their young when they ingest or get caught in it. Removing trash also makes the beach safer and more enjoyable for people to visit.

Our volunteers will help remove plastics and other marine debris as part of the this project. Each piece of trash removed will help support hundreds of species of birds and marine life that call our island home.

ABOUT HELMEPA Global Voluntary Coastal Clean-up

HELMEPA records in detail the waste that has been collected (quantity by type) for a scientific study of the issues at hand. The results are processed by the HELMEPA and forwarded to the relevant international bodies for further exploitation.

Rhodes Marina hosts Rodos Cup Regatta 2022 Awards Ceremony

The 25th Rodos Cup Regatta, co-organised by the Rhodes Open Sea Sailing Association (ASIATHR) was recently held from July 17th to 22nd 2022. This exciting event attracted visitors from around the world, with 43 boats entering this top sailing event in the Aegean this year. The iconic route enabled participants to sail majestically around the islands of the Dodecanese, namely Kos, Nisyros, Tilos, Symi and Rhodes.

Over four hundred sailors and participants took part in the Rodos Cup Regatta 2022, taking advantage of this unique opportunity to enjoy Greek hospitality and immerse themselves in Greek culture.

The exciting race finished off on the coast of Rhodes, otherwise known as the Sun Island and one of the most popular holiday islands in Greece. Participants docked at the world class Rhodes Marina, a landmark project in Greece and one of the largest development projects in the Dodecanese. This prestigious upmarket development offers superior yachting facilities and amenities that were enjoyed by all the guests and participants upon arrival.

The Rhodes Marina raised the bar for events in the region by hosting a spectacular closing ceremony.

On Friday July 22nd, the Rhodes marina hosted the Rodos Cup Regatta Award ceremony providing a sumptuous meal in front of the marina piers. Keeping with their promise of world class service with warm Greek charm, the event will be long remembered as a key event in the Rodos Cup Regatta. Attendees enjoyed their dining experience in front of spectacular panoramic views of the Aegean Sea and the marina, basking in the ambience of this top tourist destination. It was the perfect ending to an amazing week, showing why the Rhodes Marina is considered the destination of choice for boating enthusiasts and tourists.
